Throughout her career, Ida has explored countless beaches and loves to spend time in isolated places. She spent 10 years living most of the year in a tent in the Bahamas with her husband. Then during the summers, they would manage a fly-in fishing camp in Canada. Throughout these experiences Ida was writing about and photographing her journey.

Some of Ida’s most notable photographs are of birds. Her visually striking pictures of the native birds of Florida have been featured in several galleries on Cape Cod, including a feature exhibit at the Cataumet Arts Center. Her inspiration for her bird pictures came to her while visiting Antarctica. There Ida and her husband rented a shack in the middle of a penguin mating ground.  She would spend her days photographing the penguins with their mates and their babies. She derives great satisfaction in capturing the unique character, humor, and beauty of these moving targets.

Currently, Ida and her husband spend their summers on Cape Cod, and live the rest of the year in Florida. Ida continues to draw inspiration from the natural envioment and to seek outdoor adventures and experiences. All the while, she is photographing and documenting the natural beauty and the wildlife she encounters.
