Featuring John and Rachel Nicholas & David Dodson as The Lowdown
John and Rachel Nicholas have been making music together for more than 30 years, many of those here on Cape Cod. They return from their new musical stomping grounds on the coast of Maine to perform with us again April 29, 2017. John and Rachel will delight fans and newcomers with their original songs and engaging lyrics. Rooted in both historical and contemporary folk and popular music, they sing of love and loss, and the strivings, triumphs and comedies of the human heart. John and Rachel have performed at the Sweet Chariot Music Festival in Maine for the last several years. They have shared the stage with Dave Mallett, Patty Larkin, Chris Smither, Paul Sullivan, Mary Gauthier and many others throughout New England. John & Rachel will be performing here with David Dodson as the trio "The Lowdown".
David Dodson writes great songs that run the gamut of American styles-folk, rock, blues, jazz and country. They cover a variety of topics and range from poignant to hilarious. He plays a mean guitar, tells a good story, sings like a bird, and he's got rhythm. Who could ask for anything more? He has shared the stage with K D Lang, Bill Staines, Ramblin Jack Elliot, Gordon Bok, Dougie MacLean, The Persuasions, Greg Brown, Joe Ely, Marcia Ball, Sha Na Na, Chicago, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. He was a winner of the "New Folk" contest at the Kerrville Folk Festival.

On view September 13 - October 19, 2014
Meet the Artist Reception on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 3-5 pm.
A fresh approach to plein air portraits painted this summer by a group of six Upper Cape Cod painters. The group met in the natural light and elements on Nobska Beach in Woods Hole once a week from June through August. The artists painted and completed a portrait of a different guest portrait model each week. The sometimes blustery conditions and the reflective light off of Vineyard Sound made for vigorous sessions capturing the changing light and impression of the day. Artists whose work is represented in the exhibit include Amanda Wastrom of Sandwich, MA, and Damon Gayer, Maggie Kean, Doug Rugh and erica m. szuplat of Falmouth, MA.
Both exhibitions will share a “Meet the Artist Reception” on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 3-5 pm. Enjoy meeting with the artists, learning about their techniques, viewing the many works on view and celebrating the light and quality of the people and the landscape of summer on Cape Cod.

He is the composer of three number one Billboard hits, 9 top ten hits, as well as the recipient of several RIAA Platinum CDs. His voice and songs can also be heard in the Academy Award winning film "Tender Mercies" starring Robert Duval, as well as the films “Switchback” and “At Close Range”.
Craig currently tours extensively, captivating audiences with his songs, his stories, and often with just his guitar. The promoters of the Philadelphia Folk Festival had this to say about him: “Craig Bickhardt is one of the giants of performing songwriters. His show on this year’s main stage was outstanding…” Craig’s new CD, “The More I Wonder,” was released in May, 2014
A veteran of New England, Greenwich Village, and California songwriting communities, Hugh O’Doherty was raised in a family in which music was as essential as oxygen: listening to it, dancing to it, playing it. Hugh O’Doherty’s live performances take the audience on a journey from romance to satire and from riveting emotional issues to downright self-deprecating silliness. Hugh lives in and sings about the real world, and puts the frameworks of human connections into perspective with songs of: love, humor, childhood, friendship, marriage, parenthood, blended families, justice, environmental issues, and other contemporary topics.
Hugh has performed at a wide range of venues including the Old Eagle Theatre, Sacramento , Santa Barbara Songwriter Showcase, Los Angeles Songwriter Showcase, Club Passim, Cambridge, MA, South Shore Folk Music Club, Kingston, MA, Wintertide Coffeehouse, Martha’s Vineyard, MA, Coffeehouse at the Mews, Provincetown, MA, on WERS-FM, Boston, MA, WUMB-FM, Boston, MA,

Jan Luby was voted Rhode Island’s Motif Magazine's Female Vocalist of 2011. Jan and her two siblings were born on the road to Vaudeville parents (a comedy juggler and an acrobat/dancer). Growing up back stage, living in a trailer, and traveling through 47 states before the age of seven primed her for her later entrance into the West Coast New Vaudeville scene. But first her family landed in Coney Island, New York, where as a teenager she acted and danced in the Everyman Company and Chalk Circle Players. Jan's new album, Nobody’s Girl, was released last October. Her approach to songwriting ranges from socially relevant to irreverent, heartbreaking to humorous. Her songs are evocative, lyrical and infectious personal stories.
Hugh O'Doherty's live performances take the audience on a journey from romance to satire and from riveting emotional issues to downright self-deprecating silliness.
